Corks
The White Lotus is a game piece in Pai Sho, one of Uncle Iroh’s favorite games. It is highly symbolic to him as it stands for philosophy, beauty, and truth. I used the Glow Forge, a laser printer, to engrave the White Lotus symbol on the corks.
Patterns
One problem I came across was an empty inside of the boxes. I created three different patterns to fill the insides. The flavors of tea heavily inspired the patterns. Each tea flavor is a reference to the show in some way.
Quotes and Instructions
Since Uncle Iroh is full of wisdom, I incorporated some of his best quotes from the show into my design. The project specs required the packaging to be "shelf ready." I completed this by adding nutrition facts and ingredients on the back of the boxes, and brewing instructions on the right panel of each box.
Flat Designs
The project required me to build my own dieline (blueprint) for the boxes. I broke down a box I had around the house and used it for the measurements for my boxes. Here is a look at my flat designs and dielines.
